As a new Cambodian city, Sihanoukville doesn’t have a long history. It was founded in 1960 after its independence from France as a port. Set against a backdrop of densely forested mountain ranges with clear waters washing over the white sandy beaches, Sihanoukville makes for a great ‘beach holiday’ destination.
