Samode Village Tours

Tucked into the foothills of the Aravalli Range, around 26 miles north of Jaipur, Samode is a small Rajasthani village where rural life, traditional crafts and centuries-old architecture remain closely intertwined. Best known for its palace and haveli, the settlement offers a quieter counterpoint to Jaipur, with historic gates, temples, old wells, chhatris, and forts scattered through and around the village. Painted havelis and traditional homes line its narrow lanes, while local artisans continue practicing crafts including block printing, bangle making, miniature painting, stone cutting, leatherwork and carpet weaving. A small community of artists adds to the village’s living cultural character, while the surrounding countryside offers a glimpse of traditional agriculture and everyday rural life. At the heart of Samode is the elegant Samode Palace, built by nobles of the Amber royal court and distinguished by richly decorated interiors and intricate architectural details. Above it, the ruins of an old hilltop fort can be reached by a stone-paved path, from where you can take in sweeping views across the valley.
