Hakusembe Lodge enjoys an idyllic situation 12km west of Rundu on the bank of the Okavango River, overlooking Angola to the north. In stark contrast to the arid terrain found in many parts of Namibia, verdant green lawns and plentiful trees characterise this region whose life blood is the magnificent Okavango. We offer an exceptional range of river based activities, even a picnic safari in a Watu – a dug-out canoe – to have a braai (barbecue) lunch on an Angolan island. We also provide a comprehensive programme of game drives and excursions for you to enjoy during your stay with us. Meanwhile, the Lodge facilities allow for complete relaxation in their peaceful surroundings, with the opportunity to cool off in the delightful swimming pool, or with an equally cooling drink at the bar A wonderful way to round off the day is to take our Champagne Sundowner Cruise, before enjoying Dinner under the stars, when you can indulge in our splendid cordon-bleu home cooking. Our accommodation is mainly luxury air-conditioned double-bedded bungalows overlooking the river, all with en-suite shower facilities. In addition we offer a romantic honeymoon suite with superb river views, or a floating chalet – to experience the life of the river at close quarters. Finally, we have a smart, well equipped campsite for those who prefer to cater for themselves.
