I also loved this hotel. Staff were excellent However, the room we were in had a serious mold problem, which bothered my sinuses. The others had a room that did not have this problem, so I think it was just our room.

Once again, our room was upgraded. Very pretty and atmospheric. Amazing view from our terrace. Hot water was not working in our giant bathtub. Otherwise, very nice, food delicious.

Lovely food and service. Not such a wise choice for older guests because of the many steep steps/stairs to get anywhere. I appreciated the historic nature of the hotel, and the food was the best we ate on our travels, but it was not a practical choice. I could not get hot water for showers, and my toilet did not always flush well. The young guide and driver from the hotel who took me on a rural ramble were especially attentive and helpful; the guide was gracious, knowledgeable and passionate about his work. My friend left a bag at the hotel and he walked about a km to meet us on our return so that we would not have to drive through a busy marketplace to get back to the hotel. ... Read More

I was confused by the hotel policy to not tip the employees but to drop tip in tip box on departure. I didn't like that at all. I felp cheap when I din't tip my waiter.

Wow.. perfect way to forget Shahpura house... Everything that Shahpura house screwed up, Deogarh did it wow... At night when we had dinner, I informed them that I cannot have any chilis. The thali that was served was still hot. The restaurant team insisted of redoing everything, and even created new recipes for me. Wow.. and the place was once in a lifetime experience.. The train ride should be planned better with reserved seating.. not being able to do it, was dissapointing ... Read More

We loved this place too even though it is a bit tired and needs some investment. The Maharaja's policy to meet his guests, the jeep safari through the beautiful countryside over local tracks made this place memorably enjoyable as did the village.
