Madikwe River Lodge

Surrounded by the malaria-free African sand veld, this lodge is ideally positioned on the Groot Marico River in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe is home to 66 large mammal species, including the Big Five and nearly 300 resident and migrant bird species. The lodge offers 16 split-level thatched and individually decorated chalets, set in the cool tranquillity of a riverine forest. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom with an inside and outside shower, ceiling fan, complimentary tea/coffee making facility, a separate lounge area and a private wooden viewing deck overlooking the river. Your stay is on a full-board basis. After an early morning game drive in an open-air safari vehicle with an experienced ranger, or a guided bush walk, return to the lodge for a sumptuous breakfast or brunch. In the late afternoon you will go for another drive to watch the sun set on the bushveld, then you will continue on for a night safari to see the more nocturnal creatures. Return to the lodge for a delicious Pan-African cuisine, served in the open air boma under the African sky.
