Immerse yourself in nature on this excursion through Sideman, a gorgeous little valley set against the backdrop of Mount Agung, in eastern Bali. Fed by the Unda River, the valley offers excellent conditions for agriculture, especially rice, but also chilies, peanuts, coffee and snake fruit. Your day begins with a walk through green rice terraces, across gurgling streams and past Hindu villages, giving you an insight into rural Balinese life. Then take a three-hour round-trip hike to the summit of Banjar Sangkan Gunung to see Pura Bukit Tegeh Temple. The final portion is a steep hike through gorges until you arrive at the temple. Take a moment to catch your breath before enjoying the spectacular views of the river snaking its way through the valley below.
