Discover the Christ the Redeemer Statue, one of the seven modern wonders of the world, on this half day tour from Rio de Janeiro. The Art Deco statue of Christ sits atop the Corcovado Mountain, at a height of 2,300 ft above sea level. Completed in 1931, it stands 98 ft tall and its horizontally outstretched arms span 92 ft. The statue has become emblematic of Rio and Brazil. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you on a scenic drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. When you reach the base of the mountain, switch to a small cog wheel train and ride up the mountainside. Enjoy the views from the train as you slowly climb to the top. When you reach the summit, get a close-up view of the statue towering above you and admire the panoramic view of Rio and the Guanabara Bay. Return to the base of the mountain and drive back along the coast to your hotel.
