Jaipur is the eternal rose pink city and gateway to North India’s most colorful state, Rajasthan. Surrounded by the arid Aravalli Hills, Jaipur was founded in the early 18th century by Maharajah (King) Jai Singh II, and is steeped in legends and regal grandeur. Amidst the buzz of bazaars and shops, there are many historical architectural delights. The pink hue of this lively and inviting city is testimony to Jaipur’s last ruler Man Singh II, who ordered every home to be painted pink for the British royal visit of Prince of Wales and Edward V11 in 1876. The law still exists today within the old quarter. Jaipur has a plethora of
restaurants that you can explore as well.
