Casablanca’s iconic architectural style, a fusion of traditional Moroccan and French-colonial design, is best seen in its downtown area. The bustling Central Market and the old Mahakma building, which was an old Muslim law court as well as the Pasha of Casablanca’s reception hall, are definitely worth a visit for a true flavor of the city. For a taste of Casablanca’s sophisticated nightlife, a stroll down the Quartier Habous and the beachside suburb of Ain Diab are always on a traveler’s list. Fes

Fes, or Fez, the grandest royal city created by Morocco’s early Muslim rulers in the 9th century, is the country’s cultural capital and spiritual heart. This UNESCO World Heritage site houses the world’s oldest university! Fez had replaced Marrakech as the capital of the Merinid kingdom during the height of its political influence in the 13th–14th centuries. Medieval mosques, private villas and madrassas like the 14th-century Bou Inania and Al Attarine, designed with elaborate timber and tile work, still adorn the town. Imagine narrow alleyways lined with colorful stalls, donkey carts laden with goods competing with local crowds, and the tantalizing aroma of sizzling kebabs and freshly baked breads rising from the souks. Walking down blind alleys bustling with people, expect to suddenly come up against an oasis of calm, a delicate stone fountain, or an intricately carved doorway to some medieval palace or fondouk….

Your chauffeur will drive you from Fes to Midelt in a private vehicle. Enroute you can visit the Berber town of Azrou. (Duration without stops: 4 hrs)

1 Night

Midelt

The commercial town of Midelt lies on the high plains bordered by the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges. Basking in a temperate climate, Midelt hums with the energy of a modern settlement nestled by fragrant orchards and swaying wheat fields. Known for its intricate weaves, the town’s Kasbah styled workshop is inhabited by hundreds of weavers working on traditional Berber carpets and blankets, which are then sold at busy market stalls alongside fresh produce such as apples, plums and walnuts. Midelt also bears traces of its colonial past, evident in buildings such as the residence of former French governor that now serves as a cultural Centre, Tarik Ibn Zyad. Not just architecture, the cuisine too is a beautiful blend of French sophistication and earthy Moroccan flavors.

Marrakesh

Marrakesh, with its aura of mystery and exoticism, begs to be explored! Set out on a journey of discovery across this ancient city that has been prominent in shaping the history and culture of Morocco. The city was founded in AD 1062 by a chieftain of the Almoravid king Youssuf Ibn Tashfin. From its humble origins as a garrison of the Almoravids, desert warriors who were attached to their Islamic religion, Marrakesh today is a vibrant city where modernity meets tradition. Prepare to be dazzled by the ingenuity of ancient Andalusian craftsmen who used a blend of Saharan and African traditions to give the city its unique architectural character. The Almoravids are also credited with designing the complex system of khettara (network of underground irrigation canals) to bring water to the city from the High Atlas mountains. Many of Marrakesh’s palaces and mosques were demolished in the 12th century by those in power and new structures rose in their place, such as the Koutoubia mosque. Since then, the city has been on a roller coaster of glory and decline which has shaped its current form. From the medieval ambiance of the ancient medina (old walled part of town) to the glitzy bars, restaurants, and art galleries in Guéliz the French quarter of the city, see it all in a day!
