The Magic Mountain Lodge in the Huilo-Huilo Biological Reserve, is without a doubt one of South America’s most unusual hotels. Located deep within Chile’s beautiful Lake District, this small lodge is shaped like a volcano, furnished like a tree house and is replete with modern day comforts. Built of local wood and stone, its rooms have roughly hewn walls and furniture and spacious modern bathrooms. Guests can also access the internet, enjoy a round of mini golf, a sauna, or the main highlight: hot tubs made from hollowed-out tree trunks, perched on a deck overlooking the forest.
