The Lodge at Black Rapids

The Lodge at Black Rapids is a family-owned and operated lodge in the heart of the Alaska Range, on a cliff overlooking the Black Rapids Glacier and Delta River. This all-season Alaskan lodge was built using local timbers, with artistic touches such as a copper roof, wrought-iron railings and artworks of Alaskan artists throughout the property. Its owners have also been active in restoring the 100-year-old Black Rapids Roadhouse, located just below the lodge. Each room is uniquely decorated in rustic frontier style with stone floors, exposed beams, comfortable wooden furniture and artworks. Every room has a balcony and offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountain ranges, valleys and the mystical Aurora Borealis, in winter. The family and staff are happy to offer advice on exploring the area and to arrange adventure activities. Chef Tawnia Butorac-McCombs serves a variety of delicious home-style meals prepared from fresh local seasonal produce, seafood and meats at the on-site full-service restaurant.
