Bin El Ouidane is where the scenic charms of a rugged landscape meet a vibrant desert culture. Cradled in the foothills of the Middle Atlas range, the town has sweeping views of the Beni Amin plains beneath and is a popular starting point for the magnificent Ouzoud Cascades. Monuments such as the Kasba bel-kush and the Ras al-Ain stand sentinel to the town’s history which goes back to more than 300 years. Nevertheless, the town thrums now with the energy of commerce and its hard-working people. Explore traditional souks bustling with the rich produce of the plains like figs and olives or check out woolen carpets and ethnic rugs made by the Berber people. On a balmy evening you might come across locals whirling to the rhythms of indigenous desert music at the lively Djemaa El Fna square or sipping juice made from the fragrant local oranges.
