Situated in the centre of a number of small bays, Gansbaasi offers unspoiled beaches, nature reserves, ancient milkwood forests, rocky inlets, and spectacular views across Walker Bay. This is a well-known destination for viewing whales and great white sharks and the resort offers some of the best land-based whale watching experiences in the world! You will find about 60 to 100 magnificent Antarctic Southern Right Whales calving in Walker Bay between July and December, sometimes even 10 meters off the coast! Get up close and personal with the whales from the cliffs at Hermanus.
