Folegandros in Greece

Discover the Greece of old at Folegandros, a small island that is part of the Cyclades within the Aegean Sea. Arriving on a speedboat from the neighboring islands, the harbor village of Karavostasi is the first port of call in Folegandros. Connected by a single main road, a bus serves the charming villages on the island, apart from mopeds. Hora, the main town, sits on a plateau and extends to the old town Kastro on the cliff edge that boasts stunning seascape vistas. Swathed in white, cubist-style buildings flank the pedestrianized cobblestone streets. The famous Church of Panagia with its zigzag staircase is the best spot on the island to witness sunsets.
