Isolated by the waters of magnificent Lake Titicaca, the Taquile and Amanti Islands have remained generally untouched by ‘western’ influences and remain home to a small community of indigenous origin. Explore the islands and admire the immense skill of the artisans and their hand-woven textiles on Taquile or the agricultural ingenuity of Amanti where the hillsides are still worked by hand to produce the islander’s food. By staying overnight in a local home, this truly unique facet of Perú can be experienced first hand.

These islands offer stunning views of the lake and are inhabited by a small, isolated indigenous group who offer a warm welcome into their simple homes.
