The Sleeping Warrior Eco-Lodge stands high on a volcanic hill known as Mawe Mbili (two stones). Commanding stunning views over the private Soysambu Conservancy towards the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lake Elmenteita, it was conceived and built by Frenchman, Jean-Francois Damon, who now runs it together with his American wife, Jacqueline. On top of the hill stands the stone-built reception, lounge and dining room, below which is a stone terrace with fire-pit, a safari bar and extensive landscaped gardens await guests. There are eight widely spaced rooms, each housed in a stone-built cottage with high-vaulted thatched roof and outside deck each. Featuring charming bathrooms with stunning views, as well as hand-made furniture made from the cedar fence posts that once delineated the colonial ranch, each room has its own colour scheme and has been named after the fabulous birds that flit around the individual gardens that surround each cottage. We also offer a dedicated family room. Beyond the dining room lies The Warrior Bar, which features its own private loft relaxation area. Meals follow a set menu, which typically features three courses and a choice of vegetarian options. We are also delighted to accommodate dietary preferences (with due notice). The lodge also features an outdoor terrace with fire pit and safari seating and a safari bar.
