Lake Manze Camp is an authentic tented safari camp that rests under a beautiful shady canopy of Doum Palms and Terminalia trees, on the shores of Lake Manze.
Roho ya Selous, Swahili for ‘The Heart of Selous’ is located in the heart of a core game viewing area in Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). Run by Asilia Africa, the property has eight stretch canvas tents including a family tent, all overlooking Lake Manze and Lake Nzekarewa. Each tent is air conditioned and fitted with an overhead cooling system for your comfort. Enjoy free WiFi from any location within the camp. Thanks to the camp’s hilltop location, you’ll see spectacular views of a pristine landscape and rich wildlife around you.
Roho ya Selous offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. You could curl up with a book in the lounge area as you gaze out at the water, while keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife. Take a dip in the pool, and in the evenings and swap stories with fellow travelers around a campfire, followed by a sumptuous dinner. From engaging game drives to boat safaris and walking tours, the camp gives you plenty of opportunities to spot the region’s diverse wildlife.
The camp is solar powered, and charges guests a conservation fee each night to help support its sustainable endeavors. Roho ya Selous is involved in wetland conservation, wildlife welfare and a number of initiatives aimed at education and empowerment of local communities.
