Buenos Aires

Spread along the western shore of the Río de la Plata in eastern Argentina, Buenos Aires has served as the country’s federal capital since 1880 and remains its cultural and political heart. Grand Belle Époque boulevards, ornate European-influenced architecture and a vibrant street life shaped by successive waves of Italian, Spanish and Jewish immigration give the city a character unlike anywhere else in South America. Each neighborhood feels like a world unto itself. Tree-lined avenues in Recoleta are lined with grand historic palaces and marble mausoleums, while the cobblestone streets of San Telmo wind past antique shops, galleries and artisan studios. In La Boca, brightly painted timber-and-metal façades reflect the neighborhood’s colorful immigrant heritage. Across the city, chef-driven parrillas serve Argentina’s celebrated beef, paired with generous pours of Malbec from Mendoza. As night falls the city shifts, as hidden milongas draw seasoned dancers and curious newcomers into low-lit rooms, where the bandoneón sets the emotional pulse of the night. Here, tango is more than a performance: it is a language of intimacy and improvisation, carrying longing, grief, humor and joy across worn wooden floors. Beyond its iconic neighborhoods and nightlife, Buenos Aires’ bookshops, cafés and plazas call for you to linger. This is a city where history and reinvention coexist, and where the boundary between everyday life and culture is often wonderfully blurred.

Antarctica

Antarctica, our planet’s southernmost continent, has a string of superlatives attached to it. It holds the largest freshwater reserve on earth, accounting for almost all of the earth’s land ice. It is the coldest region in the world – its wind system ruling the entire planet’s climate, particularly that of the Southern Hemisphere. It is also the highest of all the earth’s continents. By far the most exotic vacation destination around the world you would ever visit, stunning photo opportunities await you around each bend. Whether its spectacularly white landscape of snow, icebergs, and glaciers, or its iconic wildlife of whales, seals, and penguins, each frame is sure to be striking. Home to the South Pole and set almost entirely south of the Antarctic Circle, Antarctica offers expedition cruises to explore its vast icy wilderness. Hauntingly beautiful, towering peaks beckon ardent mountaineers, while kayaking amid the freezing seawaters offers yet another adventure of a lifetime! Like all other grand elemental regions of this earth, such as the open oceans, vast deserts, or high mountain ranges, Antarctica too invokes a humbling sense of our minuscule selves in the face of such spectacular grandeur.
