Ol Donyo Lodge is set on 275,000 acres of wild Africa located on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills National Park between the Amboseli and Tsavo West National Parks. Its location is unrivalled with full views of Mount Kilimanjaro and in the path of traditional wildlife migration routes. Picture yourself travelling across the famous golden plains of Kenya in an open 4×4 safari vehicle guided by the best professional guides, walking with expert trackers, or riding on horseback close to plains game, with Mt. Kilimanjaro as a backdrop. Your accommodation at Ol Donyo is a luxurious and consists of individually designed thatched cottages on stilts complete with a private plunge pool – all with inspiring views of Africa, great food, charming hosts and world class service. All cottages have rooftop ‘star-beds’ as well as a sundowner area where guests have the opportunity to enjoy the dramatic views over the plains and onto Mount Kilimanjaro. Built in 1986 as Richard Bonham’s private home, the lodge features a charming lounge with an open fireplace, a swimming pool and a waterhole in front of the mess below where animals come to drink. The hide next to the waterhole allows you to get incredibly close to elephants and other wildlife that regularly come there to drink in the morning and afternoon.
