Wine Valleys of Chile in Chile

Chile’s wine region extends along the length of the country and is known for producing some of the finest wines in the world. Casablanca Valley, tucked between the capital city of Santiago and the Pacific Coast, is home to some of the country’s leading wineries. The cool morning mists and low average temperatures make the valley conducive to growing grape varieties used to produce excellent white wines such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Located close to Santiago, Maipo Valley has hot and dry summers and cold, wet winters that make it ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon varietals. There is also the Colchagua Valley, surrounded by the Andes and Coastal Mountain Ranges. The area is dotted with diverse vineyards and topnotch wineries specializing in Cabernet, Carmenere, Syrah, and Malbec.
