Pangkalan Bun

Pangkalan Bun is popular with guests as the gateway to Tanjung Puting National Park. Located on the gently flowing Arut River, the town offers several natural and cultural attractions of its own. Characterized by its beautiful balmy breeze and colorful local vibe, the river boardwalk is popular with residents and visitors alike. The 19th century Istana Kuning Palace, nestled atop a hill, is an amalgam of various architectural styles. Originally designed with Chinese, Dayak and Malay elements, the palace was rebuilt in 1990 after a devastating fire. Also worth exploring are the well kept gardens and unique architecture the Istana Pangeran Mangkubumi.
