Sabuk Lodge is set high on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River with a spectacular view of the river below and the Laikipia Plateau in the distance. The lodge, home to and hosted by professional safari guide Verity Williams, is created out of the local landscape and built with twisted wood, stone boulders and thatch. This hilly area with dense acacia bush has incredible scenery and also inhabits a variety of game and bird life. The spacious mess building includes a library, a dining room and a lounge with a dramatic deck overlooking the river. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the views. Guests are accommodated in five individually designed cottages with ensuite bathrooms, one family room and two cottages with separate dining area, all with private verandas facing out over the river gorge below. One cottage features a stunning open air sofa with a breathtaking view that at night can be converted into a bed with only a mosquito net between you and the myriad of stars. In the wild and beautiful surroundings of Sabuk guests can enjoy a wide variety of activities like bushwalks, game drives and horse and camel riding. On a hot day it is also possible to go for a refreshing swim in the pool or the river.
