Tassia Lodge

Tassia Lodge is situated on a rocky cliff, high above the Northern Frontier District, with great views into the valley. All rooms are carved out of the rock, inspired in design by the traditional Maasai ‘manyatta’. Combined with their open walls and spacious design this place gives a very natural feel. The tower and lounge offer magnificent views over the plains and hills stretching for miles from different levels and are thus ideal for a relaxing sundowners and game viewing. Accommodation is offered in six ensuite double bedrooms, one twin room with outside bathroom and a bunkhouse for children with an ensuite shower room. Some bathrooms offer open-air showers. Tassia is hosted by Antonia Hall and Martin Wheeler and their team of local Maasai. The lodge focuses on an authentic bush experience with bush walks through the dramatic landscape. It also offers game drives on guest request and horse riding. Furthermore guests can get an authentic glimpse at everyday life during a visit to a Maasai village where they can also have dinner or visit the ancient caves where the Maasai used to live.
