Explore the Galapagos of Africa! The Udzungwa Mountains are a part of the chain of Eastern Arc Mountain ranges that rise high above the flat coastline of Tanzania. Ancient and remote, these mountain massifs are one of the world’s largest treasure-chest of biodiversity and the region is often rightly called the ‘Galapagos of Africa’. Discover crystal clear, sparkling streams and gushing waterfalls on a hike through the jungles here. With a little luck, you will also spot the endemic Udzungwa red colobus monkeys, Grey-faced sengis or rare White-throated Guenons. The park has over 400 registered species of birdlife and is very popular with bird-watchers!
