Explore a private nature reserve in Namibia! The Namib Rand Reserve in the southern part of the country, was created by former farm owners to protect the unique and diverse ecosystem of this region. Preserving the area was central to the protection of the seasonal migratory routes for wildlife, as well for the conservation of bio-diversity in this area prone to extreme climatic conditions. With 202,000 hectares, the Namib Rand is the largest private game reserve in southern Africa. The reserve shares a 100 kilometre long border with the Namib Nauluft Park in the west while the imposing Nubib Mountains cordon it off in the east.
