Four square kilometers of island paradise! Songo Songo, with its coconut trees, scrubland, 3500 inhabitants, countless birds and a fabulous sandy beach, is only four square kilometers! The main island, and the several other small islands form the Songo Songo Archipelago, are an ecological hotspot for sea turtles and birds. An impressive population of corals thrive in the waters around the island and you can enjoy great diving experiences here. The area, along with the Delta Fufiji of the Mafia Archipelago and the coast around Kilwa Masoko, have been declared a Wetland of international importance.
