Luwuk Trip

Luwuk, the commercial center of Central Sulawesi is best known for its spectacular natural harbour, which also accounts for its prosperous trading business. For travelers, however, thanks to better air connectivity, it now acts as an alternative transit hub for the Togean Islands. Other than traveling through Ampana, it is also possible to get to the Togean and the far-flung Banggai Islands via Luwuk. Apart from easy access to coastal Sulawesi’s famous island destinations in the Bay of Tomini, the town also boasts a tranquil waterfront along its striking harbor. The small city offers excellent diving, snorkeling and hiking opportunities and is perfect for a short beach stay.
