The youngest of the Heritage Line’s family of boutique cruise ships, is the playfully frivolous ‘Halong Violet’. Named after the beautiful Violet Chirita, a delicate purple-flowered plant indigenous only to the rocky slopes of Halong Bay, the junk is small and exquisite. This small craft has just five luxurious cabins, whose red sails are dwarfed by the bay’s towering limestone islands. Resembling a traditional Asian junk, the wood-encased Violet is designed with gleaming wooden floors, opulent silks and velvets, with cabins having ceiling-to-floor windows that absorb the breathtaking views. The junk comes replete with all requisite amenities, and includes a gym and sauna, a spa with inimitable views, a restaurant and lounge, and a rooftop sundeck.
