Start at the National Museum of Anthropology situated at the bottom of Chapultepec Hill in the park’s oldest section. Browse the largest collection of ancient Mexican art in the world, showcased within 23 halls across two floors and set around an airy courtyard. Get an insight into the ethnography of indigenous tribes and the chronology of Mexican cultures. Marvel at several original monuments including the Sun Stone, showcasing the Aztec calendar, and a jade mask, among other highlights and recreations of archaeological sites. Begin your day at La Casa Azul, the birthplace and home of Frida Kahlo. An extension of her vibrant fashion style and Mexican heritage, the bright blue house with yellow floor features myriad decorations. Browse through the space littered with folk artifacts and souvenirs. Witness her bed topped with a mask containing her ashes, and her airy studio that overlooks a garden patio with a small pyramid. Later, head to Anahuacalli Museum, a large volcanic-rock-and-glass building that showcases the works of Diego Rivera.
