Highlights of Jaipur (Half Day): Heritage Fort Tour
Venture on a half day heritage tour of Jaipur, experiencing the amazing Jaigarh and Nahargarh Forts. Both forts stand within the Aravalli Hills that overlook the city, providing marvellous city views. Jaigarh Fort was built in the 18th century by the Maharajah who founded Jaipur as a means to protect the regal complex of Amber Fort and Maota Lake. Built a few years later, Nahargarh, which means “abode of tigers”, is locally believed to have been haunted by the spirit of a Rathore prince called Nahar Singh Bhomia. This slowed down the fort’s construction until a temple was built to pacify the spirit. In the shadows below Nahargarh Fort lies Gatore Ki Chhatriyan, a royal crematorium with its many temples and tombs, all engraved with stunning Rajasthani carvings.
