Around the Cape in a Day
Discover all that Cape Point has to offer on this enjoyable day excursion. Following an early breakfast at your hotel, drive out to the Atlantic Seaboard Coastal Road with your local guide. Enjoy your drive along this scenic stretch of road, passing by white sandy beaches and the ocean by Clifton and Camps Bay. Take in the bracing sea breeze as the wind catches your hair. Watch the sudden appearance of the Twelve Apostles Peaks to one side of the road, while the dramatic cliffs and rocky outcrops of the Cape Peninsula rise above the Atlantic on your other side. Make a pit stop at the pretty little fishing village of Hout Bay with its famous Sentinel. If you wish, you can take a boat ride to Seal Island, or browse through colorful stalls by the harbor piled high with handicrafts and local artifacts. Drive up to the Cape’s famed Chapman’s Peak and make the most of its photo opportunities. Continue up to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve before dropping by the spectacular Cape Point. Look out for the feathery ‘fynbos’ swaying in the heathland along with the region’s endemic birds and wildlife, particularly the Cape Mountain Zebra and the baboons. Gaze out at False Bay, or if you wish, you can ride the funicular to the old lighthouse for taking in the twin oceans of the South Atlantic and the Indian Ocean. Take a refreshing lunch break, before visiting the colony of African penguins at Boulders Beach. Go over to the old naval base of Simon’s Town, and end your eventful day at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens just as the sun sets over the iconic Table Mountain. Around the Western Cape by Sidecar
Hop on for a fancy ride around the Western Cape in chauffeur-driven vintage sidecar motorcycles! Layer up in jackets, helmets and your favorite bandana, and explore the Cape Peninsula at your own pace. Your tour starts in the streets of Cape Town where you can discover the distinct architecture and life. Slowly head out on a fascinating ride along the West Coast including the famous Chapman’s Drive served with spectacular oceanic vistas. Your experienced rider peppers the journey with entertaining commentary as you pass through charming coastal villages. Sit back, smell the ocean breeze, soak in the sunshine and appreciate the magnificent views. Break for a classic lunch of Fish and Chips (excluded in price) at Simon’s Town overlooking the harbor. Continue along the False Bay coastline and stop for a champagne toast as you gaze into the horizon. On your return via the picturesque Constantia Winelands, stop briefly for wine tasting sessions at heritage vineyards and boutique wineries. Hike through a sea of flowers! Named after the rare Clanwilliam Cedar trees that grow here, the Cederberg Mountains near Cape Town, and the surrounding nature reserve, offer extraordinarily beautiful views and fantastic hiking trails.

Explore the wilderness surroundings on mountain bikes or guided walks along the several heritage and nature-based trails. During spring, expect to be treated to a beautiful carpet of fynbos and other wildflowers that cover the landscape. Embark on leisurely sunrise or sunset boat cruises on the Clanwilliam Dam, and marvel at the ancient rock art that punctuates the region. You can also your hand at a bunch of watersports activities. Understand the history of the indigenous people of Southern Africa during a hike on the Sevilla Rock Art Trail, which traverses nine wonderful sites of bushmen art. At Rickety Bridge, you will enjoy tasting some of the finest wines as you savor delicious home cooked cuisine from a bistro-style menu.
