Enjoy a half day tour of the Akshardham Temple complex, a Hindu mandir (temple), which literally translates as the Abode of God. The temple is devoted to the main spiritual leader of modern Hinduism, Swaminarayan, and is home to three exhibits and beautiful gardens. An 80-min evening show depicts Shah Jahan’s true, immortal love for his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal, and is performed by The Sanskritik Natyashala, titled ‘Mohabbat-the-Taj’ – a series of plays enacting expressions of love. Set in the 16th century lavish lifestyles of the Mughal era, the show personifies the romance and eternal love of the erstwhile royal couple. One can enjoy the show in 8 different languages too. Discover the former Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri that was built and founded in the 1500s by the third Mughal Emperor, Akbar. This was a planned imperial city that would bring leaders of many religions together as Akbar held ideals of a syncretistic faith. Unfortunately just ten years after completion the city was deserted due to drought and water shortages. Visit the traditional Indian home of a erstwhile noble family from Jaipur and be a part of this beautiful affair.
