Malino, a charming little hill station on the slopes of Mount Bawakaraeng, is famous for its tropical flowers and fruit orchards. A vast quantity of fresh exotic produce like passion fruit and mangosteen, flowers like gerberas and chrysanthemums as well as a great many tropical plants are grown in its cool climate. This beautiful highland town lies in the lap of forested hills, washed with cascading waterfalls and adorned by velvety tea gardens. Japanese bunkers from the WWII are still to be found in the area. Malino boasts of numerous gentle hiking trails and nature walks. It also has a history of hosting various peace accords and notable conferences over the years.
